EM Residency Prospective Applicants

Applications for the 2022-2023 academic year will be accepted beginning September 29, 2021 when ERAS opens.

Applicants are invited to apply to the Rutgers Health/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Emergency Medicine Residency Program through the Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS). We only accept applications through the ERAS. NO PAPER APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Please contact the Student Affairs office at your institution or the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) for more details regarding the ERAS program.

A complete application includes the following: ERAS Common Application, personal statement, medical school transcript, Dean’s letter, 2 letters of recommendation 1 of which should be from an Emergency Medicine faculty member (SLOE) and the other can be a Non-EM SLOE, ECFMG Status Report (if applicable) and either COMLEX or USMLE Step 1. US clinical experience is not required.

Rutgers Health/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School only sponsors J1 visas for all residency and fellowship programs.
