Residency Curriculum
Residency is a total of 3 years. We offer a well rounded curriculum that emphasizes the fundamentals of emergency medicine while preparing residents for the future changes in the specialty.
Some of the highlights are:
- Trauma Surgery and Surgical ICU at New Jersey’s Premier Level One Trauma Center. We serve as a State and National Tertiary Care Center for Trauma serving a large population here in the Northeast.
- Pediatric-Only Emergency Department. Bristol Meyer’s Squibb Children’s Hospital is a Pediatric Tertiary Care Center with dedicated PICU Emergency Transport Services.
- Emergency Procedures and Emergency Ultrasound blocks in Intern Year to help provide core competency in hands-on Emergency Medicine early in Residency

Third Year prepares our residents to think and perform at the level of an attending. Our seniors leave Residency prepared to practice in any circumstance, whether it be an Academic Center with all the available tools at their disposal, a busy County Hospital with high patient load, or a Community Hospital with little support.
